At The Elder Law
Office of Kemp Scales, estate planning means more than drafting standard Wills or
powers of attorney. We first take the time
to really talk with our clients about their wishes and preferences, and then work together
to help ensure that these are provided for in a solid estate plan.
It is
heartbreaking when clients come to us after a loved one has become incapacitated or passes
away only to find that because their loved one had no power of attorney or Will, or one
that was inadequate, it is not possible to protect their loved ones life savings
from the cost of long-term care or administer the estate in the manner their loved one
would have wanted.
When clients come to us with a particular concern, such as how
to best make provisions for a disabled child in the estate plan, we can consider a Special
Needs Trust or other customized solution to fit their specific needs.
By
limiting our legal practice to elder law and disability law, we can concentrate on staying abreast of changes
in the law to help ensure the best possible service to our clients. |
